life with Ringo.

Meet Ringo. He is our "Elf on the Shelf." Well he is Cole and Blake's elf from the North Pole. He works for Santa and every year, the morning after Thanksgiving, he shows up somewhere in the house for the boys to find and watches the boys and monitors their behavior. At night, he goes back to Santa and reports on the boys, the good and the bad. He then arrives back at the house sometime before the boys are awake, in a different spot for them to find him and continues the watching and reporting until he goes back to Santa for good on Christmas Eve.

This year, Cole said he told Ringo and Santa that he would be in Oklahoma for Thanksgiving and sure enough, Ringo appeared. The boys were excited to find him in the morning up on a cabinet and have been minding their manners and are being great, so far. Mom and Dad appreciate Ringo! Any advantage a mom and dad can have on getting their children to behave is awesome. Ringo is welcome in our house year round if he wish. But really, we love the magic of Christmas, the true meaning of the birth of Christ, all the lights, decorations, music and chaos it can bring. This is now a tradition in our house, and a welcome one I might add.

Look up this great tradition, start it if you want. Elf on the Shelf is fun and magical. Your child gets to name is elf (don't ask me how Cole came up with Ringo), register him or her, and even can get an official letter from Santa. A book accompanies your elf so you can enjoy the story with your child or share about the little elf who is watching over you.
